  • Greg Irving said a Jefferson female will not stop calling him, trying to locate her sister. He said he does not know her or her sister and blocked the female’s number. The officer contacted the female, who advised she was fine and did not need assistance form the officer.
  • The Peony Restaurant said they were receiving prank calls at 101 E. Lincoln Way. The business would receive calls, but no one would speak on the other end. The business later learned they were having a phone line issue and did not need further assistance.
  • Roger Chesler reported two dogs in the roadway in the 1200 block of W. Lincoln Way. Officers did not locate the reported animals.
  • An officer assisted an Iowa Department of Human Services case worker with a welfare check on a child at 107 E. Vest St.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance Service with a medical call in the 1000 block of W. Washington Street.
  • Several arrest warrants were requested after an officer received lab test results on items seized during a search warrant executed on March 3, 2019, at 300 E. State St. Warrants have been requested for Roger Allen Burnie, 33, of Jefferson for three counts of child endangerment, second-offense possession of controlled substance-marijuana, second-offense possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Warrants were also requested for Amelia Marie Kennedy, 34, of Jefferson for three counts of child endangerment, first-offense possession of controlled substance-marijuana, first-offense possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
