Jerry Allen Hornsby, 73, of Perry died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center-Unity Point in Des Moines, Iowa.
There are no services planned at this time. Memorials may be made to Hastings Funeral Home in Perry.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lee Hornsby and Florence Irene Johnson; and his infant grandson, Alex Giovani Moran.
He is survived by his wife, Jannette Hornsby; two sons, Jerald Allen Hornsby of Perry and Joe (Juana Cisneros) Olvera of Perry; two daughters, Charmalee (Russell) White of Perry and Christine Moran of Perry; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Hastings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

It was such a shock to learn of this and still is. I had many great conversations with Jerry and Janet and attended many camping and other events with him and his family. I love them all as if they were part of my own because to me they are! Jerry, I will truly miss our times together, and you will forever hold a spot in my heart and thoughts. My sincerest thoughts and prayers for peace to Janet, Christine, Jerry Jr., Charmalee and the rest of his family. Love you all!
