Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Roberts, 78, of Jefferson will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at the Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson. Visitation, with the family present to greet friends, will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the funeral home, with an Elk’s service to follow at 7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10. The family requests anyone attending the visitation or funeral service to please wear a mask at all times.
Jerry passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Hollie Roberts of Jefferson; son, Jeremy (Alyssa) Roberts of Los Angeles; daughter, Jessica (Joel) Lown of Des Moines; daughter, Shelley (Ryan) VanDerMeide of Chanhassen, Minnesota; and daughter, Kelley McCane of Jefferson; grandchildren, Owen Lown, Magnolia Lown, Lila VanDerMeide, Hayden VanDerMeide, Maddy McCane and Maya McCane; sisters-in-law, Jo Roberts of Waukee and Jan Watson of Rock Island, Illinois; brothers-in-law, Tim Gries of Perry and Art (Cheryl) Watson of Macon, Illinois; as well as special cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
