Josefine Vodenik, 68, of Perry passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 5 from 4-7 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Memories at 5:30 p.m., at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry.
Josefine Vodenik was born Oct. 11, 1952, at Wels, Austria, to Peter and Katharina (Meyer) Gelbowitz.
She attended Perry High School.
Josefine was united in marriage to Larry Lee Vodenik in Perry Jan. 14, 1989.
She worked at Hy Vee, Regal Video, Alco, Places and did Home Health Care, all in Perry.
Josefine was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She enjoyed growing house plants, watching sugar gliders and going out to eat.
In death she rejoins her parents, Peter and Kathy.
Left to cherish Josefine’s memory are her husband, Larry Vodenik; children, Jodie (Craig) Gratias, Josef Reed and Alyssa and Josiah Vodenik and Aubrey; grandchildren, Katharine (Brandon) Murillo, Mercedes (Steve) Sholley, Tyler and Mason Gratias and Eleanor Reed; great-grandchildren, Michael Kallie Murillo and Steven and Emily Sholley; siblings, Karolyn (Bill) Adams, Joanne (Jim) Nicholaisen, Linda Gelbowitz, Peter (Wendy) Gelbowitz and Richard (Sarah) Gelbowitz; and many other family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to the Raccoon River Pet Rescue in Perry and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
