Visitation for Joyce Marie Bills Mack, 90, of Grand Junction was held Wednesday, March 15 at the Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, and funeral services were held Thursday, March 16 at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction. Burial took place at the Junction Township Cemetery in Grand Junction, Iowa.

Joyce died March 8, 2023, at her home in Grand Junction, Iowa.

Her parents were Earle and Della Bills.

Joyce lived in Woodward with her parents and three brothers. She then moved to Perry before moving to Grand Junction in 1967.

Joyce had five children from her first marriage to Howard Montgomery.

She worked as a custodian at the Rippey School and as a cook and a cashier at Dave’s Foodland in Grand Junction.

She loved seeing the children who came into the store and would treat them to candy.

Joyce enjoyed quilting baby blankets, and she often gave them as gifts to the new babies in the family as well as friends.

She also liked putting puzzles together, word searches, baking and watching TV.

When she was younger, Joyce enjoyed going on trips with friends to visit their family members.

Christmas was one of her favorite holidays. She made all kinds of candy and cookies for everyone to enjoy.

Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction.

In April 1975 Joyce married Vernon Mack.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Parke Montgomery; three grandchildren; three brothers; and son-in-law, James Coffin.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Karen Coffin of Grand Junction and Vickie (Tom) Choate of Grand Junction; sons, Robert (Melissa Byrkett) Montgomery of Grand Junction and Gilbert Montgomery of Grand Junction; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
