Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of arrangements for Laverne Erickson, 88, of Boone and formerly of Grand Junction. Laverne died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Grand Junction. Visitation will be held at the church Friday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m., and a public vigil will be held at 7 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Laverne is survived by his wife, Ima Lee, of Boone; daughter, Debbi (Bill) Strong of Washington, D.C.; four sons, Tom (Sandy) Erickson of Williamsburg, Iowa, John (Tonee) Erickson of Lincoln, Neb., Alan (Dee) Erickson of Denver, Colo., and Gary (Lisa)
Erickson of Ames; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Laverne also has two brothers, Al (Doris) Erickson of Mesa, Ariz., and Ken Erickson of Fairfield, Iowa.
