Linda Smothers, 62, of Perry died on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at her home with her family in Perry, Iowa.

A memorial service in her memory will be held Monday, Oct. 18 at the Pleasant Hill Free Church at 4555 Parkridge Ave., Pleasant Hill, IA 50327 at 1 p.m.

Memorials will be given to family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Linda Irene Smothers was born March 10, 1959, to Gerald Miner and Vivian May (Tosten) Naber.

She graduated from East High School in Des Moines with the class of 1977.

Linda was married to Brian, and they were the parents of Melissa, Isaac, Aaron and Joyce, and then she was married to Max, and they were parents of Anna. On July 10, 2011, she was united in marriage to Micheal Joe Smothers at the Pleasant Hill Free Church in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Linda was good with computers and enjoyed working for her supervisor and with her team members at Casey’s corporate office in Ankeny as an accounts payable officer.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Free Church.

Linda loved being a stay-at-home mom and home schooling her daughter, Anna.

She enjoyed experimenting with recipes using raw foods, hiking, studying scriptures, reading, watching romantic movies, swimming and playing games with family.

Linda liked spending time with her sisters. They would sing together in the “Naber Girls Quartet” and play musical instruments.

Linda was always ready to do something fun.

In death she rejoins her parents, Gerald and Vivian; and a brother, Gary Mark Naber.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory are her husband, Micheal Joe Smothers; children, Melissa, Isaac, Aaron, Joyce and Anna; grandchildren, Arthur, Tristan and Sophia; sisters, Louise (David) Piziali, LaVonne (Tom) Spencer and Luann (Lyle) Granzow; and many nieces and nephews.
