Lloyd Robert Olson, 89, son of Lloyd Andrew and Mabel (Wicks) Olson, was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Perry, Iowa. He passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at his home in Perry.
Lloyd graduated from Perry High School and went on to attend four years of college in Kansas.
He returned to Perry and went to work at Don’s T.V. and repair for about 12 years.
On Nov. 22, 1972, Lloyd was united in marriage to Donna Maxine McComas in Perry.
He then operated his own T.V. and repair business for the next 20 years, retiring in 1991 at the age of 62.
Lloyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, napping and being outside, and he loved Iowa Hawkeye football.
Lloyd was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perry, where he served as treasurer, head usher and custodian.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Olson; and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Rick (Judy) Olson of Kansas, Nancy Harris of Arizona; stepsons, David (Peggy) Cannon of Perry, Dan Cannon of Texas and Mickey (Patti) Cannon of Shamrock, Texas; stepdaughter, Vicki (Roy) Stewart of Alabama; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Visitation will be one hour prio to the services. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
