April 3, 2017

  • An officer received a complaint of a raccoon in a tree. The officer was unable to locate “the masked bandit.”
  • An officer followed up with a witness to a past attempted burglary.
  • An officer spoke to someone regarding a landlord-tenant civil issue.

April 4, 2017

  • An officer assisted with an emergency medical call at Continental Labs.
  • An officer received a report of a dog running at Edgewood Park. The officer contacted the owner and had him retrieve his friendly bulldog.
  • The officer stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Annex Road. The driver was warned for excessive speed.
  • An officer spoke to a Madrid business owner regarding theft from his business by an employee. The owner will provide video and follow up with officers regarding any charges.

April 5, 2017

  • An officer returned a phone call to someone from local business needing information on a case from 2011. The officer determined it was a Boone County call and gave the information to dispatch.
  • An officer followed up on four past accident reports and forwarded them to insurance companies.
  • An officer arrested and transported Matt Herron of Madrid on a Boone County warrant for burglary.
  • Beth Buck of Madrid was arrested on and charged with third-degree theft and transported to the Boone County Jail.
  • An officer received a complaint from a resident on Southern Prairie Drive regarding a recreational vehicle parked and blocking their driveway. The vehicle was moved prior to officer’s arrival.

April 6, 2017

  • An officer assisted the Iowa DEpartment of Human Services with a case and sent them a report from a past one.

April 7, 2017

  • An officer assisted a building inspector on 21st Street with gaining entry into a city-owned property.
  • An officer met with a Madrid resident and turned over some lost and found property to him. The owner of the property reported a bunch of kids got into some of his property and threw it all over. All of the property was recovered.
  • An officer received a request for a copy of an accident report from a Madrid resident.
  • An officer returned three firearms to a Madrid resident that were being held for safekeeping.
  • An officer performed a vehicle unlock at Meadow Estates.
  • An officer arrested Chad Sarver of Madrid on a warrant for first-degree theft (motor vehicle). Sarver was picked up from the Polk County Jail after he served time at their facility for separate charges and was transported to the Boone County Jail.

April 8, 2017

  • While an officer was on a bar check at a local tavern, he was called upon to break up a verbal fight between two female bar patrons. The two groups involved in the argument were asked to leave the bar and did so without incident.
  • An officer responded to a report of a vehicle with an unsecured load traveling eastbound out of town on Iowa Highway 210. The officer was unable to safely catch up to the truck but checked the roadway for several miles and did not observe any debris.

April 9, 2017

  • An officer responded to 200 block of W. Second Street for a burglary.
  • An officer responded to 400 block of Fairview Drive for a parking complaint. The vehicle was moved upon arrival.
  • An officer responded to the Madrid High School for a report of two suspicious vehicles. The officer checked the area and found the owners to be walking on the track.
  • An officer responded to 400 block of S. Water Street for a barking dog complaint.
  • An officer called back to 400 block of Fairview Drive for the same parking complaint. The officer made contact with the resident who agreed to move his vehicle.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
