February 13, 2017

  • An officer fingerprinted two Woodward residents for job-related background checks.
  • An officer spoke to a neighboring agency regarding information on a property owner.
  • An officer received a call of an unwanted person at the Cedars. It was determined to be a verbal domestic-related argument between a staff member and her family member. All persons were advised, and the male half was trespassed from the property.

February 14, 2017

  • An officer spoke to an U.S. Army Captain from Camp Dodge regarding an ongoing case and sent him information on it.
  • An officer met with a Madrid resident who turned in a key she found while walking.
  • An officer responded to a report of a family disturbance. The male was transported at his request to the Boone County Hospital for a voluntary committal.
  • An officer was dispatched to the Dollar General store regarding an alarm. Everything checked  out okay and was determined to be a false alarm.
  • An officer assisted the Madrid Fire Volunteer Fire Department, Slater Volunteer Fire Department and Woodward Volunteer Fire Department on a structure fire in the 600 block of S. Greene Street. No injuries were reported, and damage was contained to a vacant house and garage.

February 15, 2017

  • An officer spoke to several people regarding a suspicious fire from last night and followed up after receiving information from the realtors.
  • An officer fingerprinted a subject for a job-related background check.
  • An officer was called to the Madrid Elementary School for a student who left the grounds. The officer assisted in getting the student back to the office.
  • An officer reviewed surveillance video of the area regarding a structure fire from the previous night. The officer will follow up with the State Fire Marshal’s office.
  • An officer stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of S. State Street. The driver stated he was lost. The officer advised the driver on driving behavior, and everything checked okay.

February 16, 2017

  • An officer was called to Edgewood Park for a pair of dogs running at large. The officer located the owner and took the animals home.
  • An officer responded to a domestic situation at 211 S. Green St. It was determined to be a verbal-only dispute between a mother and adult son. The officer separated the two for the night and assisted them in forming a plan for long-term living arrangements for the son.
  • An officer responded to a suicidal medical call on E. Third Street.
  • An officer responded to Fairview Drive regarding a found dog. The animal was returned to its owner.
  • An officer returned a call to a female for an unknown complaint. The woman did not respond after repeated attempts to reach her by phone.

February 17, 2017

  • An officer performed a vehicle unlock at the Cedars.
  • An officer received a call of three dogs running at large near Second and Union streets. The officer, assisted by the dogs’ owners and other Madrid residents, located the animals, and the owner picked them up.
  • An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Greene Street for a civil stand-by. The officer recovered a large amount of drug paraphernalia that was taken into evidence.

February 18, 2017

  • An officer assisted the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department and the Boone County EMS on a medical emergency in the 600 block of Brodie Lane.
  • An officer assisted the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department and the Boone County EMS on a medical emergency in the 500 block of W. Eighth Street.
  • An officer spoke to someone regarding a civil property issue.
  • An officer spoke to a resident regarding speeding vehicles entering town on Iowa Highway 210 from the west. Officers will provide extra speed enforcement in the area.
  • An officer stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of E. First Street. The driver, Hannah Severson, of Luther was subsequently issued a citation and released for driving while suspended.
  • An officer spoke to a resident regarding a barking dog from a previous night.

February 19, 2017

  • An officer performed a vehicle unlock at the Madrid Home.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
