January 3, 2017

  • An officer was dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in the 100 block of the Maple Ridge Drive.
  • An officer was called to the Madrid High School for a dog running at large. The officer was able to identify the animal and took it to its owner.
  • An officer received a complaint of fraud on a debit card being used in Chicago. The officer called the hotel and advised them of the situation on their “guest.”
  • An officer took a report of someone threatening to harm himself. The officer contacted the person and subsequently notified the Boone County Hospital. It was determined by officials on scene that there was no immediate threat, and the person refused to be transported for evaluation.
  • An officer followed up with Boone County Attorney’s office regarding a drug case.

January 4, 2017

  • An officer received a call about a possibly intoxicated driver on Iowa Highway 17. The officer located the vehicle, and it had already made it home.
  • An officer assisted a Boone County Deputy Sheriff in locating someone who was the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident in the county.
  • An officer was dispatched to a vehicle reportedly all over the road on northbound Iowa Highway 17. The officer stopped the vehicle and found nothing wrong with the driver.
  • An officer was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Madrid Home. The Madrid Volunteer Fire Department was already on scene and disregarded further assistance as it was a false alarm.
  • An officer stopped a suspicious vehicle at Iowa Highway 210 and QF Lane. The out-of-town occupants of the vehicle were attempting to find the trail head parking lot to view the Trestle Trail Bridge after dark. Everything checked okay, and the officer provided directions.
  • An officer received a call stating the neighbors’ house lights were flashing on and off, and the caller wanted an officer to do a welfare check. The officer made contact with the homeowner, who stated they were having electrical issues with their outside lighting. Everything checked okay.
  • An officer assisted with background checks on two individuals regarding joining Madrid Fire/Rescue.
  • An officer followed up on two junk-vehicle violations that were brought to the attention of their owner last week in the downtown area. One vehicle had been removed.

January 5, 2017

  • An officer was called to the intersection of Locust and Little streets for a semi-tractor that lost his trailer. The officer did traffic control until workers could get it moved onto a side street.
  • An officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue on an emergency medical call at the Madrid Home.
  • An officer assisted rescue and ambulance at the Cedars.
  • An officer returned a call regarding harassment. It was determined the call was a spoof.

January 6, 2017

  • An officer performed a vehicle unlock at Continental Labs.

January 7, 2017

  • An officer assisted with a funeral procession through town.
  • An officer stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of S. Kennedy Avenue. The driver was cited for no registration.
  • An officer assisted Madrid Rescue on a lift assist in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street.

January 8, 2017

  • No calls for service.

January 9, 2017

  • An officer assisted a Madrid resident with a civil issue.
