October 17, 2016

  • An officer unlocked a vehicle for a student at the Madrid High School.
  • An officer arrested Derrick Sandy of Madrid on a Boone County Warrant for failure to serve jail time regarding a previous conviction for OWI.

October 18, 2016

  • An officer was called to the Madrid Tiger Bowl for an unconscious male. Subject was checked out by Boone County EMS and after refusing transport, Troy Brower was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was transported to the Boone County jail.
  • An officer unlocked a vehicle for a subject in the Madrid High School parking lot.
  • An officer was dispatched to a disturbance in the 600 block of Washington Street. It was determined to be a verbal dispute only, and both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

October 19, 2016

  • An officer assisted the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department on an emergency medical call in the 200 block of S. Cedar Street.
  • An officer stopped a suspicious vehicle in the est parking area next to the library. It was determined the subject was using the Wi-fi from the library on a cell phone.
  • An officer spoke to a subject regarding a dog running at large near Casey’s. The oOfficer was unable to locate the animal.
  • An officer stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Iowa Highway 17. The driver was given a warning for improper rear lamps.

October 20, 2016

  • An officer received a complaint about a barking dog at Dalander and W. Second streets.
  • An officer took a report of a possible intoxicated driver headed into town on Iowa Highway 210. The officer located and stopped the vehicle. The driver was determined to be sober but was distracted. The officer issued a warning.
  • An officer stopped a possible intoxicated driver headed north on Iowa Highway 17. The officer tested the male driver, but he tested slightly under the limit. The officer allowed the man to contact a friend to drive him home.
  • An officer took a report of a stolen handgun. The victim said it was possibly stolen on a job site in Des Moines, but he was unsure when it went missing in the past two days.

October 21, 2016

  • An officer responded to a domestic call in the 200 block of S. Greene Street.
  • Officers provided traffic control after the Madrid High School football game.
  • An officer responded to a domestic in the 200 block of S. Green Street.
  • An officer checked the welfare of a Madrid resident after the resident’s vehicle was found in a ditch in Polk County.
  • An officer unlocked a vehicle at the Madrid High School.
  • An officer took a report of a stolen campaign sign from a resident’s front yard.

October 22, 2016

  • An officer located a dog running at large. The owner of the dog was found, and the dog was returned. The owners were advised.
  • An officer received a call regarding burning grass. The officer advised the burners.
  • An officer responded to a domestic call on E. Third Street.

October 23, 2016

  • An officer responded to Git-N-Go regarding a lost wallet. The male believed the wallet was left on top of the pump and someone took it. The officer is working with the store to get the surveillance video.
  • An officer responded to a report of a truck driving without headlights or tail lights at around dusk. The officer located the vehicle, but the driver had since turned the lights on and was doing a fine job of driving. No stop was made.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
