A Celebration of Life for Margaret Moore, 89, of Perry will be held Friday, May 4 from 5 -8 p.m. at La Poste. A private family burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery. Margaret Ann Moore was born March 23, 1929, in Moran, Iowa, to Annis and Anna (Hynd) Young.
She attended Perry Schools.
Margaret was united in marriage to Floyd Moore Jr. at Adel in 1947.
She worked as a CNA at the Perry Lutheran Home and then retired as head of housekeeping at Rowley Masonic Community.
Margaret enjoyed helping at the Perry Humane Society, taking care of her many cats, sewing, crocheting, woodworking, making crafts, going to flea markets, camping and fishing.
She made a lot of quilts out of old blue jeans, was a good cook and made the best chocolate chip cookies.
In death Margaret rejoins her husband, Floyd Moore Jr.; parents, Annis and Anna Young; and her brothers, Annis, Harry, Cliff, Jack, Larry and Thomas Young.
Left to cherish Margaret’s memory are her children, Randy (Lynda) Moore of Perry, Larry (Kelly) Moore of Ogden, Lloyd (Christina) Moore of Granger, Russell (Hollie) Moore of Perry and Rick (De De) Moore of Madrid; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Young of Sacramento, Calif.
