Marjorie Walzer, 83, of Perry passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at the Kings Garden Campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Everyone is encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while attending visitation and services.

Marjorie Mae Walzer was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Willard and Marjorie (Heath) Knight.

She graduated from high school in Atlantic.

Marjorie was united in marriage to William Ferd Walzer in Fort Collins, Colorado, Jan. 24, 1958.

She worked in Perry at various retail stores and then retired from the Family Credit Union.

Marjorie was a member of the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Perry.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing Solitaire, collecting Boyd’s Bears, being with family for holidays and going out for lunch with her friends.

In death she rejoins her husband, William Walzer; parents, Willard and Marjorie Knight; sisters, Shirley Ratashak, Sharon James, Joyce Wolfe and Linda Wood; and a brother, Willard Knight.

Left to cherish Marjorie’s memory are her children, Mike Walzer of Sheldahl, Kathy (Fred) Sawdy of Urbandale, Laura (George) Klesel of Boone and Scott (Jodi) Walzer of Des Moines; grandchildren, Nathan (Amy) Segreto, Josh (Deena) Klesel, Mathew Segreto, Tyler (Erin) Walzer, Brad Walzer, Nicole (Steve) Taylor, Jacob Klesel and Hailey Walzer; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Gloria Strang of Grandby, Colorado, Ruth (Jim) Norton of Altoona, Jo Beth (Dan) Chittenden of Grand Junction, Colorado, and David (Nancy) Knight of Ames.
