Joe Shelly of Perry, Democratic candidate for the 47th district of the Iowa House of Representatives, will meet and greet voters Saturday, Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m. at the Perry Perk coffeehouse at 1201 Warford St. in downtown Perry.
Shelly is campaigning to unseat Iowa Rep. Carter Nordman, a second-term Republican from Panora.
Visitors will be able to meet Shelly in a casual setting and discuss the future of the Perry community and the state of Iowa. Supporters may also pick up campaign yard signs and, if interested, volunteer for door knocking or phone calling.
The informal event, sponsored by Louis and Lois Hoger of Perry, is free and open to the public.
