DES MOINES — Kendall Bickford found the back of the net in the first half to power DC-G to a 1-0 win over Waverly-Shell Rock Tuesday in the Class 2A Boys State Soccer Tournament.

Bickford’s free kick strike proved to be enough for the Mustangs (17-3) as the defense stifled the Go-Hawk (13-7) attack.

DC-G now faces Bondurant-Farrar (17-3), who posted a 4-1 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton (16-4) in their quarterfinal match. The Mustangs and Bluejays will battle Thursday at 2:40 p.m. on Field 6 at Cownie Park.

The 2A title match will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on Field 9. ADM (15-4) faces Xavier (13-4) in the other semifinal Thursday.
