Nancy Jo Robertson, 76, of Urbandale passed away July 24, 2023, from Alzheimer’s surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John Lewis and Gertrude Ella (Madren) Kehoe.
Nancy graduated from Perry High School in 1965.
She worked for Look Magazine and American Republic Insurance.
Nancy married Jerry Robertson on Aug. 27, 1971, and to that union Jolynn and Jeffrey were born.
She became a stay-at-home mom, often volunteering at Olmstead Elementary School and providing leadership for Jolynn’s Campfire group and Jeff’s Cub Scout den.
As the kids got older, Nancy became a retail merchandiser for Gibson Greeting Cards and then an area supervisor for Driveline Merchandising before retiring.
Nancy enjoyed sewing, listening to Neal Diamond and Elvis, couponing and rebating and reading a good romance novel.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; daughter, Jolynn (Peter) Corkrean of Winterset; son Jeffrey (Melissa) Robertson of Zumbrota, Minnesota; grandchildren, Alex, Allie, Landon and Hazel; brother, Rex Kehoe of Ankeny; and sister, Judy (Roger) Sergent of Perry.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Becky Kehoe, Roberta Wilson and Betty (Kehoe) Brown; brother, Max “Bud” Kehoe; and grandson, Charlie Corkrean.
Visitation will be 2-3:30 p.m. Monday, July 31 at the Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road with a 3:30 p.m. funeral service. A private family burial will be at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Nancy. A special thank you to Home Instead, St Croix Hospice and Senior Suites of Urbandale for their excellent care for Nancy.
