Public Service Announcement: A reminder for Ogden residents: If you have one or more sidewalks or if you live on a corner lot, you are required by city code to have the sidewalk(s) cleared of snow within 48 hours after the snow has stopped falling. If there are complaints and the city of Ogden has to have the sidewalk cleared, the cost of the snow removal will be assessed against your property taxes.

January 23, 2017

  • An officer assisted a stranded motorist.

January 24, 2017

  • The Ogden Street Superintendent reported that a junk vehicle was parked very close to the alley south of Mulberry Street between S.W. Sixth and S.W. Seventh streets. The officer attempted to make contact with the owner, but nobody was home.
  • An officer spoke with a resident at 302 N.W. Fourth St. regarding loose garbage in the parking and asked whether she could pick it up before the wind starts blowing. The resident cleaned up the garbage.
  • An officer assisted someone locked out of a vehicle.
  • An officer received a complaint about someone in an apartment without permission. The officer cited and released Scott Perdue, 40, of Ogden for alleged criminal trespass.
  • Someone reported he received a text from a female stating that she had cut herself badly. The officer found an address for the female in Boone and notified the Boone Police Department. The Boone Police Department officer went to the residence, and the female was fine.

January 25, 2017

  • Sasha Clark reported that her road at N.E. Fourth and Locust streets was blocked with snow, and the person who cleans her driveway cannot get to her house even though she has daycare children coming. The officer notified the Ogden Street Department, and the department removed the snow.

January 26, 2017

  • An officer provided traffic control for a funeral procession from the Carson/Stapp Funeral Home proceeding west on 220th Street to the Beaver Cemetery.

January 27, 2017

  • An officer received a report of two suspicious males in the area of St John Catholic Church. The officer located the people at Casey’s. They were lost and needed directions to Des Moines.
  • An officer assisted someone locked out of a vehicle.
  • An officer assisted a stranded motorist.

January 28, 2017

  • An officer assisted the Ogden First Responders and the Boone County EMS.
  • An officer assisted someone locked out of a vehicle.

January 29, 2017

  • Charla Holmes reported someone entered her apartment at 245 W. Walnut St., #4. Charla did not think anything was taken other than the screen on the outside of the window.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
