Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Omer Bennett, 83, of Perry. Omer died Sept. 22, 2015, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
According to his wishes, no formal services will be held.
Omer is survived by his children, Leticia Dunlap of Pueblo, Colo., Scott Bennett of Des Moines and David (Teresa) Bennett of Ankeny; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in his loving memory.
Omer has been a good friend to my dad, Ramon McLuen, since grade school. He will be missed. God bless his family.
Omer will be missed by his friends at the Elks Lodge.
