Graveside services for Lyle Thompson, 84, of Jefferson and formerly of Perry will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Violet Hill Cemetery.
Lyle passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson, Iowa.
Otis Lyle Thompson was born Nov. 26, 1933, the son of Otis Leon and Blanche (Carleton) Thompson in Derby, Iowa.
He lived in Perry most of his life until moving to Jefferson in 2010.
Lyle worked for the City of Perry for 25 years in the sanitation department. He retired in November 1996.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Marti Thompson of Churdan; sister, Rose Mary (Earl) Dawson of Streetman, Texas; nieces, Carrie Thompson of Churdan, Bonnie (Dan) Kilbreath-Poltier of Churdan and Dawn (Michael) Istre of Houston, Texas; grandnieces, Emily Fay of Churdan and Elizabeth Fay of Churdan; grandnephew, Mike Istre of Houston, Texas.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.
