MADRID — Tuesday’s West Central Conference girls basketball game saw Madrid score 15 points against visiting Panorama in the fourth quarter. The problem for the Tigers? They entered the frame with just 16 points on the scoreboard.

Class 2A No. 6 Panorama (8-0, 6-0) was in control from the opening minutes, opening a 16-8 lead after one quarter and holding a 27-12 advantage at the half en route to a 55-31 victory.

Morgan Johnk led the way for the Panthers with 12 points, with Bailey Beckman and Devyn Kemble each scoring 11 points. Nine points from Nicole Rolfes, five from Hope Wilderman, four from Faith Powell and three from Taylor Rishel completed the scoring ledger for the guests.

Powell pulled down six rebounds and Johnk and Rolfes five each, with Wilderman making four assists while Kemble had four steals. Johnk and Wilderman each blocked two shots as part of another strong defensive effort by the Panthers.

The Tigers (4-4, 1-4) were led by the 12 points and eight rebounds produced by Shayla Peters and the 11 points and four caroms recorded by Kyra Troendle.

Panorama visits Van Meter for a key WCC tussle tonight. They will finish the pre-holiday portion of their schedule Tuesday with a visit from Woodward-Granger.
