PANORA — The wrestling teams from AC/GC, Ogden and Southeast Valley shared one thing Thursday: all lost in dual action against host Panorama. The Panthers, wrestling at home for the first time this season, opened with a 48-27 win over SEV before ripping Ogden, 54-12, and AC/GC, 55-16.
In other team action, AC/GC was a 41-39 winner over Ogden, with SEV downing Ogden by a 45-24 margin, with SEV a 48-33 victor against AC/GC.
Forfeits dotted the results, as Panorama yielded 12 points by leaving both the 106 and 113-pound weight classes open. SEV had both 160 and 195 open, with Ogden competing at eight of 14 weights and AC/GC in 7-of-14 divisions.
Panorama’s Dalton Holmes (195 pounds) received three forfeits, and Ondrej Komora (160) two forfeits, with Danny Nordquist (120), Noah Kirtley (138), Tyler Van Houten (145), Gunner Grunsted (170) and Dalton Bennett (285) all granted a single win by concession.
George Appleseth was a triple-winner, with all three victories by pinfall. He stuck SEV’s Colton Klingson in 1 minute, 11 seconds and Ogden’s Austin Flynn in 3:11 at 126 before moving up to 132 and pinning AC/GC’s Gabe Rolwey in 1:06.
Brady Howard won a 1-0 decision against Xavier Nichols (SEV) and a 6-4 decision over Trent Ganoe (OGD) before pinning Spencer Grove (AC/GC) in 3:08 to finish 3-0 at 220 pounds.
Kaleb Stogdill (145) and Van Houten each won twice by pin. Stogdill nailed Jake Peterson (SEV) in 38 seconds and Jacob Kathman (OGD) in 1:53, with Van Houten sticking Carter Fluckiger (SEV) in 3:26 and Zachary McCloud (OGD) in 3:31.
Norquist pinned Sam Hemmestad (SEV) in 1:55 and claimed a 6-2 win over Zachary Fees (AC/GC), with Grunsted winning by a 4-2 final against Kaelen Lundberg (SEV) and with a pin of Tyler Free (OGD) in 1:15 while Trevor Carey pinned Blake Haub (OGD) in 3:53 before recording an 11-2 major decision against Cole Stetzel (AC/GC) at 182 pounds.
Other contested wins for the Panthers came from Jacob Holwegner (132) with a pin of Calvin Williamson (SEV) in 3:07, from Kirtley with a pin of Hunter Lynch (AC/GC) in 1:46 and from Bennett, who defeated Parker Stoneburner (OGD), 4-0.
One exhibition match was held, with Panorama’s Dan Jensen needing just 17 seconds to pin Southeast Valley’s Matt Ross at 285.
Panorama will wrestle five times Saturday at the West Central Conference Duals at Woodward. The start time has been moved to 10 a.m.
