Several scholars from the Perry area graduated this summer from the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), and others were honored for their mid-career academic achievements.
Among the nearly 700 DMACC graduates receiving diplomas at the end of the summer semester were Kathryn Taylor of Perry, awarded a degree in liberal arts, and Joscelyn Twogood of Perry, completing training as a medical assistant.
DMACC also released the names of students eligible for the Summer Semester President’s List. Students must earn a 4.0 grade point average to qualify for the honor.
Phillip Kanealy of Perry, an accounting and bookkeeping major, and Courtney Steadman of Perry, a financial administration major, were named to the Summer Semester Preisdent’s List.
DMACC’s Summer Semester Dean’s List includes students earning a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average. Perry students named to the Summer Semester Dean’s List include:
- Judy Arellano, human services major
- David Hall, business administration major
- Raniah Maher, accounting paraprofessional major
- Haley McCarty, business administration major
- Francisco Miranda, liberal arts major
- David Swenson, liberal arts major
- Patrick Thompson, pre-nursing major
