The elf on the copy machine will be among the honorees at Friday night's Perry Educators Holiday Party.

In order to show their support for Perry’s teachers, a number of community members and local businesses have come together to organize and fund the first of what they hope will become an annual celebration for educators.

The party is planned for Friday, Dec. 17 at the Hotel Pattee and will include a meal, live music, professional photographer for family pictures — even Santa Clause might make an appearance.

“The folks to whom we entrust our most valuable resources know that they are appreciated,” said Eddie Diaz, one of the holiday party’s organizers. “Not just teachers but bus drivers, school nurses, para educators, admin assistants and the school administrators who help educate our children are invited to attend with their families.”

In addition to the holiday celebration, some educators will receive gifts from families in the community who purchased them for the holiday celebration.

Sponsors include:

  • Platinum level: Fareway, Tyson, and the Hotel Pattee
  • Gold level: Raccoon Valley Bank, Perry Educator Association and Captured Moments by Tenille Photography
  • Silver level: Re/Max Torres Concept Team, Farm Bureau Financial, No Lawn Left Behind, Proletariat and Chuck Painter
