Effective Monday, June 1, the Perry Fareway at 1315 Willis Ave. will resume its normal business hours: Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. All Fareway locations will continue to reserve the first hour, from 8-9 a.m., for customers aged at least 65 years, expectant mothers and other high-risk customers.

The Perry grocery store reduced its operating hours March 18 in reaction to state directives regarding the COVID-19 virus.

The Perry Fareway is also giving away for free to customers some of the 35,000 face masks donated to the Boone-based company last week by the Iowa governor’s office and the Iowa Department of Public Health.

“We appreciate the generous donation and partnership with Gov. Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Public Health,” Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer said at the time of the donation.

“I want to thank Fareway for their assistance in helping distribute masks and for their ongoing efforts to promote public health in Iowa,” Reynolds said.

The masks were provided by HanesBrands Inc. to the state of Iowa. They will be provided to customers on a first-come, first-served basis until supply is exhausted.
