A Perry man allegedly injured a Perry woman Sunday morning and damaged her vehicle following a verbal altercation.

Cody Daniel Walker, 21, of 516 Clearview Dr., Perry, was charged with intimidation-assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily injury, fourth-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

The incident began about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Clearview Drive, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of an assault.

The officers made contact with the victim, who said she was sleeping in the driver’s seat of her vehicle when she was awoken “by shattering glass from the front driver’s seat window,” according to court records.

Walker allegedly “admitted to officers that he had shattered the windows” of the victim’s vehicle “with a slingshot projectile,” according to court records. Walker said that he “damaged the front and rear driver’s side door windows” by firing “one small, round
projectile” at each window.

The victim told the officers that she entered Walker’s apartment, where Walker allegedly “struck her right forearm with a vape pipe, causing a red mark in the shape of the vape pipe,” and “also threw an object at the victim, which struck her on the right side of
her head, leaving a round, swollen, red mark,” according to court records.

The victim said the thrown object that struck her in the head might “have been a TV remote,” according to court records.

Damage to the vehicle windows was estimated at $550.

Walker is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $13,300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary Hearing Nov. 18 in Dallas County District Court.
