Perry man arrested after allegedly seizing woman’s thighs

A Perry man was arrested Wednesday after a woman reported he assaulted her thighs.

Jerry Lavern Miller, 68, of 822 Wiliam St., Perry, was charged with third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of William Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic situation.

Officers made contact with Miller, who “admitted to grabbing and squeezing the victim’s thigh area,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Miller allegedly “grabbed both legs and that this caused lingering pain and redness,” according to court records.

Miller is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 8 in Dallas County District Court.

Miller was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-use or display of a weapon in January 2021 in Greene County District Court. He was convicted of third-degree harassment in 2014 in Story County District Court. He was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2005 in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
