The Perry Municipal Airport was the site of festivities on day one of the Perry Sesquicentennial Celebrations Friday, with airplane rides all day and a free double-header concert in the evening.
Sponsored by the city of Perry, the Perry Chamber of Commerce, Bolton and Menk and Walter Aviation, the Fly-in/Drive-in Concert featured Adam Bruce at 7 p.m., followed by The Jesters at 8:30 p.m.
The Perry Firefighters Association provided food for the event as well as a shuttle service to ad from the parking lot.
A crowd of about 150 enjoyed the mild temperatures and stunning clouds at sunset while the bands played on in tribute to Perry’s founding in 1869.
Fantastic concert! A really unique venue and an absolutely beautiful evening made for perfect night to kick off Perry’s Sesquicentennial. The Jesters were awesome!
