A suspect in the shooting was detained by law enforcement about 7 a.m. after officers deployed “multiple Tasers,” according to public safety radio traffic.

Iowa State Patrol Troopers and Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs were seen investigating an open field near W. Eighth and Paul streets about 7:30 a.m.

Two Dallas County EMS ambulances responded to the scene of the gunfire.
