  • A caller reported “a burglary at his son’s house” in rural Greene County. The call was transferred to the Greene County Sheirff’s office.
  • A caller said “his mother-in-law has moved out,” but the caller said “he was concerned that she made a threat toward him.” An officer responded and “advised that if she caused any problems to call the police department.”
  • A caller from “the animal rescue called to report two dog bites.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her friend “is a little irrate over being told she cannot get her 18-month-old child from the child’s father.” The caller said her friend “is upset as she is still breastfeeding and needs to get their child back,” but she “received a call from Hamilton County telling her she cannot get her child.” An officer responded and said “that this is a civil issue, and she needs to contact an attorney.”
  • A caller “requested to speak with an officer about kicking someone out of his property.” An officer responded and explained “this is a civil matter,” and the caller “needs to properly evict the person.”
  • A caller “requested an officer respond to assist with her removing her property.” An officer “responded” and “stood by while the property was removed.”
  • A caller said she “needed help kicking a guy out who has lived there without paying rent.” An officer responded and explained to the caller that “she needs to properly evict him.”
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department escorted about 50 riders of the Fallen Angels through town.
  • A caller said “someone drove through a pool area and almost hit 10 kids.” The caller asked that an officer “respond to speak with the driver.” The caller was transferred to the Boone County Sheriff’s office.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and found the dog owner caught the dog. The officer “advised them of leash laws.”
  • Cristian Rodriguez, 25, 2111 Warford St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of interference with official acts.
  • A caller reported a “trash can fire” in Dawson. The Dawson Station of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged.
  • A caller said “her husband was drunk, and he hit her after she tried to stop him from urinating in the hallway.” Officers responded and found “no signs of an assault. The male half left for the night.”
  • Tamara Rameriez of 1602 Evelyn St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense nuisance burning.
  • A caller said “his son is on 24-hour leave from Fort Des Moines, and they are not getting along.” The caller called again and asked the police department “to disregard” the previous call.
  • A caller said “she struck a large dog at the Angus curve, and the dog is still alive.” The Boone County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A caller said “his 15- and 11-year-old daughters are home alone while his ex-wife and sister-in-law are out at a party.” An officer responded and said “that they were okay.”

August 19, 2018

  • Shane Christian Sheehy, 27, 1923 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on charges of first-offense OWI, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said he lost his cell phone.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
