  • A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier called and “reported a brown dog running loose.” The caller said the dog “charged at him while he was delivering mail” and was “now just running around the neighborhood.” An officer responded and located the dog.
  • A caller said a “white husky is running loose again.” Juan Partida of 900 W. Sixth St. in Perry was issued a citation for first-offense dog at large.
  • A caller “reported a bicycle stolen.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and made contact with “a group of young kids.” The officer explained to the young people that “the dog needs to be inside a house or on a leash or in a fenced yard.”
  • A caller said a runaway female returned. An officer responded and “made contact with the juvenile,” who was then “removed from Iowa/NCIC.”
  • A caller said a shoplifter “tried to steal a Centru flea and tick collar valued at $6.99.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with “a ket to a BMW that she found under some papers on her table.” The woman said she had “no idea whom it belongs to.” The item was “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller said his brothers were arguing. An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “picked up a cat trap.”
  • A caller said “two laptop computers fell of” a vehicle “as it turned the corner by his residence.” The caller later entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with the items, which were “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller said a chicken was running at large. An officer responded, located the bird and its owner and learned “the owner’s children had opened the door to the chicken cage, and the bird escaped.” The officer assisted the owner in recapturing the bird.
  • A caller said “her husband lost his gold wedding band today.”
  • A caller “said he’s being harassed.” An officer responded and made contact with the harasser, who was directed to cease communication with the caller.
  • A caller said her dog was lost.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
