August 27, 2018

  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle and a “tablet of some type.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported a downed tree limb. The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered a person who “found a plastic bag on the ground filled with marijuana.” The item was “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller said she was “concerned for her neighbor, who seemed to be aggressive.” The caller said the neighbor “was swinging a hammer at a tree and had been yelling at someone on the phone.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “meds were stolen from her mother.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from a local retail store reported a gas drive off for $29. An officer responded.
  • A caller “said a small child approximately 2 years old was outside unattended.” An officer responded and learned the “child was with its 9-year-old sister,” and the “mother was just inside the door.”
  • A caller said “she just returned home” and “found items missing from the residence.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said someone “keeps walking into her house uninvited.” An officer responded.
  • Kaycee Irene Curry, 25, 4041 Hubbell Ave., #202, Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving while revoked.
  • A caller from outside the city limits of Perry said “she is being harassed by her boyfriend’s mother.” The caller was “advised to contact the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was “flagged down” by a person who requested a welfare check on a third party. The person later called and said “she located him, and he was okay.”
  • A caller “requested to speak to an officer regarding a prior issue with her husband.” An officer responded.

August 28, 2018

  • A caller said “he had a pigeon or dove that was unable to fly and that had a mark on its foot.” The Iowa Department of Natural Resources was notified.
  • Matthew John Goff, 44, 515 Grove St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault.
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his wife.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her keys are locked in her running car.” An officer responded.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and “reported an assault aginst her 13-year-old daughter.” The woman said “the incident happened about two years ago.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “two young children left in the running car with no supervision.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her son’s cell phone was stolen today.” An officer responded and “located exactly where the phone was pinging to.” The phone was located and returned to its owner.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and reported three scam phone calls. An officer responded.
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large and “will keep the dog at her residence till the owner is located.”
  • Ricky Dean Glass, 51, 401 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of second-offense OWI.

August 29, 2018

  • A caller said “his neighbor has her TV on very loud.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her boyfriend took her car keys and was planning on driving off in her vehicle.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her neighbor’s cow behind her is out of the barn” The caller said the cow “is eating grass, and she doesn’t want it to go off too far.” An officer responded and made contact with the livestock owner, “who arrived and put the calf away.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
