Perry Police Report Aug. 6

August 5, 2018

  • A caller “reported a vehicle has been parked on the street for three days.” An officer responded but did not find a vehicle matching the caller’s description.
  • A caller said he lost his wallet.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with “questions on how to obtain a no-contact order.” An officer responded and explained “how the order could be obtained.”
  • A caller “requested an officer respond so that he can get some personal property from his residence.” An officer responded and “stood by while property was removed.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “said she wanted to report an assault that happened about five months ago.” The woman “said she had pictures to prove it.” An officer responded and “explained it would not be possible to do an investigation and make an arrest of her ex-husband” due to “how long ago the incident took place.” The officer also “explained there was no way to prove the picture was of an injury that” the woman’s ex-husband “caused.” The officer “advised” the woman “how to get a no-contact order,” and the ex-husband “was told if he continued to make threats toward” the woman, “he could be charged with harassment.”
  • A caller with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office requested that officers of the Perry Police Department “attempt to locate a subject on the bike trail.” Officers responded, found the person and “advised the county of same.”
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.
  • A caller said “he found a gold bike frame in his yard.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported a naked man yelling at a woman by the bike trail.” An officer responded and determined a “verbal dispute” occurred between a man who “was not naked” and a woman.
  • A caller reported credit card fraud. An officer responded.

Aug. 6, 2018

  • A caller reported an erratic driver “near Dawson headed west.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
