February 9, 2018

  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • A caller asked to speak with an officer “about sexual-contact allegations.” An officer responded.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department conducted DARE classes at the Perry Elementary School.
  • A caller reported “a call from someone who said they were with the IRS, demanding payment or he would be arrested.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the dallas County Hospital said officers from the Waukee Police Department “brought in a woman for a court-ordered mental committal,” and “the woman just ran from the hospital.” Officers responded but did not find the escapee.
  • A caller said “her son lost his cell phone.”
  • A caller reported “a small child not in a car seat” in a vehicle traveling northbound. An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said “he was with a woman whose child didn’t return home after school today.” An officer responded and made contact with the mother, who said “her 11-year-old child has not come home yet.” The officer directed the mother to the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. to “fill out a runaway form.” The mother said she was “first going to look at the child’s friend’s house and if he wasn’t there, she would come to the police department to have him entered as a runaway.” An officer followed up about 90 minutes later at the home of the mother, who said “she found her son shortly after speaking with” the first responding officer.
  • John Dale Michaelson, 46, 1908 Sixth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department assisted a motorist whose car was stuck in the snow.

February 10, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department observed a man in a black shirt and blue jeans “walking along the highway.” The officer made contact with the walker, who said “his ride didn’t show up for work so he was walking and running late.” The officer gave the worker a ride to Tyson Fresh Meats near Perry.
  • A caller said her 13-year-old daughter “may have taken pills.” An officer responded and spoke with the mother and daughter, who “denied taking anything. The mother then believed her.”
  • A caller reported an unauthorized vehicle parked in a handicap parking spot. The caller said she “is constantly finding vehicles without permission there because it is closer to the door.” An officer responded but found not unauthorized vehicle parked in the handicap spot. The caller two hours later and provided a license plate from an unauthorized vehicle in the handicap spot. The officer “responded again.”
  • A caller said “a customer brought in a baggy of marijuana that was found in the parking lot.” An officer responded, and the item was “logged into evidence.”
  • A caller said she caught two dogs running at large near the Angus curve north of Perry. The caller “was advised we cannot take the dogs since they were out of town.” The caller said she would take the dogs to the animal rescue in Jefferson.
  • A caller said “the people who live above him” were “being loud” and “stomping around.” An officer responded and made contact with the noisy people above, who said they have “two small children,” and they “try to keep the kids quiet, but they have to run and play some.” The noisy people said they “requested a ground-level apartment,” but there were “none available at this time.” The officer made contact with the caller and “suggested he talk to management about the issue.”
  • A caller said “her daughter admitted to taking” some quantity of pills. An officer responded and the dallas County EMS was paged.

February 11, 2018

  • A caller “reported two females walking” in the roadway and was “concerned for their safety.” An officer responded, located the walkers and “advised them to use the sidewalk. They said they will.”
  •  A caller reported an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded, and the time “was placed in the bike shed.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said her son’s phone was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and located the dog but “was unable to catch it.”
  • A caller said she came home and “found her door had been kicked in,” and a person was “standing there” who “admitted to kicking in the door.” An officer responded and made contact with the caller, who said the person claimed “her door had been kicked in so she kicked” the caller’s “door in” in turn.
  • A caller said she lost her wallet.
  • A caller reported seeing someone “on a scooter” in the street that “had no kind of lights on whatsoever.” An officer responded.

February 12, 2018

  • A caller said “someone rummaged through her vehicle.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “two boys were fighting in the parking lot.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “his vehicle was hit while it was parked,” and “a note was left of the other subject who hit it.” The caller said he “wanted an accident report done.” An officer responded.
  • Benito Ramirez Jr., 36, 2665 Summer Meadows Drive, Perry, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
