  • A caller said “the mailman was attacked by a pit bull.” An officer responded and attempted to make contact with the owner of the dog.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department assisted the Dallas County Sheriff’s office in an “attempt to locate a wanted subject.”
  • A caller asked to speak with an officer “regarding a female subject living with him.” The caller said “he wants her to move out because she isn’t paying rent, and she is threatening him.” An officer responded and “advised him of the eviction process.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer about someone “coming to his place of work and harassing him.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer “about suspicious activity.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “grabbed his phone and threw it across the pool section” at the McCreary Community Building, “breaking his phone.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a dog being bitten by another dog.” The caller also said “the owner of the other dog was bitten while trying to separate the two dogs.” An officer responded.

February 17, 2018

  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said “a female was dropped off by the West Des Moines Police Department” who “has a 48-hour hold on her, and she is intoxicated.” The caller said the woman “had fallen asleep and was fine” but now “just woke up and is trying to leave and being unruly.” The caller requested assistance from the Perry Police Department “until the Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded.” An officer responded and “stood by with the intoxicated and unruly patient.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
