  • A caller asked to speak with an officer about a local recycling center “not giving enough money for his cans.” The caller said he “believes they are scamming people.” The caller “said they have a sign that if the cans are not sorted, then they only pay out four cents,” when “it should be the normal five cents.” An officer responded, made contact with the recycling center and “provided a copy of the Iowa Code that pertains to can redemption.”
  • A caller “requested assistance with staying more nights at” a local motel. An officer responded and explained to the caller that “usually the Ministerial Association helps in cases of emergency, not for a lengthy amount of time.”
  • A 911 caller said “he has been kicked out” by someone, and he “believes she is off her meds and that is why she is acting up.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said “her ex” had “forced his way into her apartment and is arguing with her.” Officers responded and made contact with “her ex,” who said he “had a right to be there because he’d been living there, and he still considered it his residence.” The parties “agreed they could get along until other living arrangements were made.”
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.
  • A caller said “there were large piles of snow near” an apartment complex, and the piles “could potentially block the view of vehicles.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • A caller said his dog was lost. The caller called again and said his dog was found.
  • Mark Allen Meier was issued a citation for improper or unsafe turn.
  • Erik Edgardo Guillen was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial liability-accident.
  • A caller reported “a dog that has been whining, and she wants someone to go check on it.” An officer responded and determined the dog “had access to food, water and the heated garage. The dog seemed to be doing well and was very playful.”
  • A caller reported “a suspicious vehicle parked in front of her garage.” An officer responded and “made contact with the registered owner, and the vehicle was moved.”
  • A caller from a “Boone walk-in clinic” said “they had a pateint there that had been bitten by a dog” at a residence in Perry. An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
