February 23, 2018

  • A caller said her dog was lost. A second caller said “she has the dog in her car,” and the “dog needed to be taken to the clinic.” An officer responded, transported the dog to the clinic and notified the dog’s owner.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A caller said when she took her child to school, she saw “two elementary school-aged girls sitting outside of their house” and when she returned, “the girls were still there.” An officer responded and “was able to get them in the house.”
  • A caller said he noticed some tenants “have a dog with two broken legs.” The caller said  “it’s been over a week, and the dog has not been taken to the vet,” and he was “concerned for the dog.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Perry Public Library reported a female “who does not have a ride back to Des Moines.” An officer responded and arranged transportation for the female.
  • A caller said “that he needed officers right away,” and then the caller “hung up.” Officers responded and learned the caller wished his roommate removed “due to his destructive behavior.” The officers advised the caller “to seek a restraining order or a mental health committal.”
  • A caller said his father “saw a group of people around a vehicle” and that “the group of people then ran from” the vehicle, “leaving that vehicle with all the doors open.” Officers responded and investigated. The officers “contacted the Jefferson Police Department, who attempted to locate the registered owner.” The officers made contact with the registered owner, who said she “had sold the car in October.”

February 24, 2018

  • A caller said “her parents were being loud and drunk.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her dog was barking, and she believes there may be someone around the property.” An officer responded but did not finding anyone in the vicinity.
  • Kyle Douglas Good, 28, 1418 Sixth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • Aaron David Mallicoat, 31, 1908 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on two Dallas County warrants for probation violation.
  • A caller said she “received a phone call from an unknown person. When she asked who was calling, the person made a rude comment and hung up.” An officer responded.
  • Jose Antonio Garcia, 33, 111 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of eluding.
  • A caller said she “received a phone call from someone who said he was an attorney” and said her grandson “had been in an accident and arrested.” The caller said she sent the scam attorney $8,000 and then another 9,000. An officer responded.

February 25, 2018

  • Taviar Edward Lucas, 19, 2506 Perry Park Ave., Perry, was arrested on charges of first-offense public intoxication and second-offense possession of alcohol under age.
  • A caller said “her dogs woke her up barking,” and when she checked on her 15-year-old son, she found “he was not in his room.”  An officer responded and concluded the juvenile “snuck out.” The caller said she wanted the juvenile “entered as a runaway.” The caller later called again and said her son returned.
  • A caller reported “footprints through her yard and around her vehicle.” The caller said “she would like to know who is walking through her yard.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “the person who lives above him is stomping on the floor, being loud.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a kitten “she found while walking her dogs in the area of the boat ramp.” An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • Daryle DeWayne Snyder Jr., 49, 17764 130th St., Perry, was arrested on a Jefferson Police Department warrant for probation violation on an original charge of burglary and on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of interference with official acts.
  • A caller said “someone broke the glass out of one of his gas pumps.” The caller said “he has video of the incident.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said someone was “in the front lobby, being loud and refusing to leave.” Officers responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported “graffiti spray pained on the back of the Grand Theater.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported seeing “a woman dressed in purple” and “carrying a machete” and “a man dressed in black” and “carrying a sword.” An officer responded and made contact with the edged weapon bearers, who said they were “heading to river timber to look for shed antlers.”
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said she lost her billfold.
  • A caller said “a woman is standing n the corner” and “hollering at her husband.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “she is being harassed.” An officer responded, made contact with the alleged harasser and “advised him to not have any more contact with” the caller.
  • Lynn Marie Hinds, 55, 308 Lucinda St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of third-degree theft.
  • John Michael Pilkey, 36, 1155 Williston Ave., Waterloo, was arrested on a charge of OWI-drug related.

February 26, 2018

  • A caller said “there is a cat in his front yard by his steps,” and “it doesn’t seem to have use his back legs.” An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Clinic.
  • A 17-year-old male from Perry was arrested on charges of breaking and entering and assault on a police officer.
  • A caller said his mother-in-law’s “home was broken into.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his mother’s house was broken into, and nothing was taken, but water was running.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “three teenage males ran across Willis Avenue in front of her” and “nearly causing an accident.” No officers were available to respond.
  • Conrado Castaneda, 2801 First Ave., #83, Perry, was issued a citation for driving without a license.
  • A caller said “he was assaulted by his girlfriend.” An officer responded and made contact with the girlfriend, who “denied even being in his apartment.” The caller “changed his story” and said “he fell,” and the girlfriend “did not strike him.”
  • David Stevens Hall of 424 Willis Ave. was issued a citation for first-offense nuisance burning.

February 27, 2018

  • A caller said “she heard what sounded like a gunshot to the west of her residence.” Officers responded and “did not hear any additional sounds similar to gunshots.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
