February 1, 2018

  • A caller said “sometime last night the store took in a $100 counterfeit bill.” An officer responded.
  • A Dallas County Deputy Sheriff attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver “pulled into an alley and took off on foot.” Officers responded to assist.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller reported a cat was stuck on a roof. An officer responded but was “unable to get the cat.” The Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged, responded and “completed the task.”
  • A caller requested an officer’s assistance in “a welfare check on a couple of kids who have not gone to school.” An officer responded and “verified the children are okay.”
  • A caller said he “had to fire an employee,” and now the former employee has “been driving by his residence a lot.” An officer responded.

February 2, 2018

  • A local jeweler called and said a “female stole a ring out of the front display window yesterday.” An officer responded.
  • Jairon Estuardo Alvarado, 31, 1014 14th St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
  • A caller said she “just returned and found her residence had been broken into.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital reported a 15-year-old male was skateboarding when he was struck by a passing vehicle. An officer responded.
  • A caller said his licence plate was missing.
  • A caller said “her neighbor is accusing her son of breaking into her residence.” The caller said her neighbors “were rude to her and when she went to confront them about it, one of the boys pulled a gun on them.” Officers responded and made contact with the neighbor, who said “no one pulled a gun on the neighbor.”
  • A caller said “he is having problems with someone that is threatening to post a video on Facebook of him.” An officer responded and explained that “it was a scam to get him to pay the money.” The officer advised the caller “to block the Facebook account and have no further contact with that unknown person.”

February 3, 2018

  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • A caller said “she has a squirrel in her basement” and “requested to borrow a trap.” An officer responded, and a trap was provided.
  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department removed debris from the roadway.
  • A caller reported “a group of bicyclists” who “seemed heavily intoxicated,” and “one of them was urinating on the side of the road.”  The Boone County Sheriff’s office was notified, but “all deputies were tied up,” and “all Perry officers were also busy on calls.”
  • A caller said her son was “trying to take off in her pickup truck.” Officers responded and made contact with the son, who “denied trying to take the truck but admitted to taking the battery out of the truck. He was advised to put the battery back in the truck,” and the caller was “advised of how to properly evict her son.”
  • A caller said her husband “has made general comments of suicide, and they have had domestic issues.” The caller said “they are starting the process to separate and no longer live together.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “his daughter’s friend got a hold of” the caller’s “wireless account and withdrew $75.” An officer responded.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on a dog “that has been left outside all day.” An officer responded, made contact with the dog owner and explained “the tethering-of-dog ordinance and that the dog cannot be tied up outside all day.” The dog owner said “he would bring the dog inside.”
  • Ryan James Kinney, 43, 2204 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense public intoxication.

February 4, 2018

  • A caller said he lost his billfold.
  • Joshua Lee Carmichael, 29, 1522 Lucinda St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A caller said “there was an owl inside of his home.” An officer responded and “caught and released the owl.”
  • Tiara Dawn Stanek, 24, 1306 1/2 Second St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of unlawful possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller reported a loose cow. An officer responded, made contact with the cow and “learned the cow belonged to Chad Pennington.” The officer made contact with Pennington, who said “it was most likely his cow” missing three weeks, but he “would not come and get the cow in the dark.”

February 5, 2018

  • Christin Charles Smith, 34, 743 William St., Perry, was arrested on charges of third-offense OWI, driving while revoked-OWI, driving while suspended, open container and no insurance.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
