  • A caller reported “that there was a semi that had disconnected the trailer in the entrance of Burger King to 141 at the stop light.” Officers responded.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone whom she meets “for coffee in the mornings, and she did not show up.” Officers responded and “made contact with a family member, who confirmed all was well.”
  • A caller said “she went outside to grab some clothes from her aunt, and her daughter had locked herself in the apartment,” and the caller “has no key to get in.” Officers responded, and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged.
  • Virginia Gail Porter, 60, 820 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of third-degree theft.
  • A caller said “she found some drug-related evidence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a man “seemed like he was scoping out the neighborhood.” An officer was advised.
  • A caller reported a fuel spill. An officer responded. The Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged, and the utility company was contacted.
  • Patrick Griffen was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign.
  • A caller “claimed she saw footprints in the snow in her backyard and wanted officers to be aware.” An officer was advised.
  • A wireless 911 caller said “her little sister told her that the father of her children” was “threatening to harm the kids.” The caller said she was “there on behalf of her sister because of a no-contact order, but the father won’t let her in.” Officers responded, and “the kids were given to their mom without incident.” Officers “determined that the messages of the children being harmed were false. It is believed that a fake account has been made.” The officers suggested the parties “speak with the courthouse and get a child-custody agreement started.”
  • A wireless 911 caller said “his father had been hitting him and being mean to him.” The caller said “he wanted officers to go there and make him stop.” Officers responded and “determined that the child was slapped for not listening to his parents.” The caller “said his father would make threats and said he wished the child was dead.” An officer “will be contacting DHS and making a referral due to the accusations.”
  • Someone entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said a dog was running at large. Officers “responded and took the dog to the pound.”
  • A caller “reported dogs barking.” The dispatcher “could hear the dog barking in the background.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
