January 4, 2018

  • A caller reported “two elementary school-aged children walking,” and the caller said “it is too cold for them to be walking.” An officer responded, made contact with the children, “advised them of the school delay” and “waited for them to go back home,” which was nearby.
  • A caller said “someone rode a snowmobile through his driveway and almost hit his mailbox.” An officer responded and told the caller “to us if it happens again at the time it happens so that an officer can try and catch them right away.”
  • A caller said he “received several robo calls.” The caller said he “just wanted to report it.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave., “requesting to talk to an officer regarding a no-contact order.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her daughter called her to report a possible intoxicated driver” who “stumbled out of the car.” Officers responded but did not find the stumbling driver.
  • A caller reported a vehicle “being operated in an erratic manner.” The caller said the driver of the vehicle “threatened to roll the truck if he saw law enforcement.” Minutes later a 911 caller “advised the truck is in the Minburn area.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was alerted.
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller from a local retail store said “two males came in with blood on them” and “left a bloody mess in the bathroom.” An officer responded but did not find the bloody men.
  • Austin Lee Arteman, 18, 2203 N. 15th St., Adel, was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

January 5, 2018

  • A caller said “he saw a suspicious person looking at vehicles in the parking lot of Wiese Industries with a flashlight.” The caller said he made contact with the suspicious person, who “turned out to be” someone known.
  • Jonathan Scott Woodley, 25, 1324 1/2 Second St., Perry, was arrested on a Perry warrant for fifth-degree theft. Woodley was also served with “an official notice for no trespassing at” a local retail store.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
