January 5, 2018

  • A caller said he was “concerned for his son,” who “is on house arrest and has an ankle bracelet.” The caller said his son “was saying strange things.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she was “having trouble getting” someone “to get up to go to school.” An officer and other authorities responded. The juvenile resisted assistance, “elected not to cooperate” and “chose to remain home.”
  • A caller said she found a bicycle near the bicycle trail, and “she walked it from there to the police department.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “someone must have broken into her garage.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said “a child had ingested some pills,” and “the father is there and has the pills but will not hand them over.” The caller called again and said “the pills have been voluntarily handed over,” and she “does not feel she needs an officer there anymore.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said her 10-year-old son “failed to come home after school today.” The caller called again and said her son was “still at school in the principal’s office.”
  • A caller reported “an underage party that involved marijuana.” Officers responded, but no one answered the door.

January 6, 2018

  • A caller said “her brother was threatening suicide” and “making threatening comments about his girlfriend.” Officers responded, and one person was transported “to Dallas County Hospital for an evaluation.”
  • A caller from the Humane Society of Perry said a man “has been hospitalized” and “is concerned for his cat.” An officer responded and met with the Humane Society volunteer in order “to enter the residence and retrieve the animal” and place it in foster care. The officer also noticed “some Amazon packages were outside” and “took them inside.”
  • A caller said “his grandmother is in Texas.” The caller said “he just just drove by his grandmother’s house,” where “lights are on and someone is walking around in the house.” An officer responded and found “the residence was secure,” with “no signs of forced entry or anyone” occupying the residence.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said she was “concerned” about a no-contact order between her friend and another person. Officers responded.

January 7, 2018

  • A caller said her son lost his billfold.
  • A caller from a local retail store said a customer lost his billfold in the store, and it was later found “with about $100 missing out of it.” The caller said “they checked their video system and found the suspect,” and “they know who it is.” An officer responded and made contact with the suspect and with the owner of the billfold, who “did not want to press charges” but “only wanted the officer to talk to” the suspect “about it.” The caller requested no-trespass orders be served to the subject and her husband. The no-trespass orders were served.
  • A caller requested an officer stand by during a civil property exchange. An officer responded and stood by.
  • A caller said her daughter and her daughter’s husband “were possibly fighting amd wanted to make sure everything was okay.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said her “purse was stolen from her vehicle.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
