  • Officers responded to the 500 block of Warford Street on a report of vandalism to a vehicle. Damage was estimated at $250.
  • Drug paraphernalia was located on the bike trail by a city employee and turned in for proper disposal.
  • Officers responded to the 900 block of Willlis Avenue on a report of a disturbance. Everything was okay upon arrival.
  • Officers responded to the Dallas County Hospital on a report of a possible sexual assault.
  • The Perry Police Department received a report of two groups of people in the area of the McCreary Community Building who appeared to be suspicious. Everything was okay.
  • Officers responded to the 900 block of Willis Avenue on a report of harassment.
  • A 17-year-old male from Perry was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI and possession of a controlled substance.
  • Ivan Davila Barrios, 19, of 2543 Riverwoods Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and providing false identification to a public official.
  • A 16-year-old male was issued a citation for first-offense curfew violation in the 1800 block of Pattee Street.
  • Officers responded to the 400 block of 15th Street on a burglar alarm. Everything was okay.
  • A 2007 Chrysler van, registered to and driven by Candace Robbins, 62, of Lake View, Iowa, collided with a 2018 Toyota Rav4, registered to Van Thi Nguyen of 603 Warford St., Perry, and driven by Chien Quoc Doan, 17, of 601 Warford St., Perry. No injuries were reported.
  • Officers responded to the parking lot of a local retail store for a report of a two-car accident. A 2012 Honda Civic, registered to and driven by Gina Peterson, 24 of Evanston, Ill., collided with a 2011 Ford SW, registered to and driven by Emmanuel Cruz Hernandez, 25, of 2801 First Ave., Perry. No injuries were reported.
  • Trent Robinson, 25, of 1209 18th St., Perry, was issued a citation for fireworks violation in Pattee Park.
  • A 14-year-old male was issued a citation for fireworks violation in Pattee Park.
  • Officers responded to the 2300 block of Otley Avenue on a report of criminal mischief. Damage was done to the yard.
  • Officers responded to the 1300 block of Otley Avenue on a report of damage to a vehicle.
  • Officers responded to a local retail store on a report of a theft. The case is under investigation.
  • A 13-year-old male was issued a citation for fireworks violation in Pattee Park.
  • A 16-year-old male was issued a citation for fireworks violation in the 1600 block of North Street.
  • Nazir Coffie, 18, of 1215 Bateman St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge driving under suspension.
  • Shane Matthew McNeeley, 27, of 615 Park St., Des Moines, was issued a citation for fireworks violation.
  • Officers responded to the 2200 block of Otley Avenue on a report of harassment.
  • Officers responded to the 2200 block of Otley Avenue on a report of a break in.
  • Officers responded to a local retail store on a report of two males in a verbal dispute.
  • Officer responded to the 400 block of Fourth Street on a report of a theft from a vehicle.
