  1. I’ve seen it so many times I just can’t remember. What part of a no-contact order do they not understand? I hate to say it, but some folks require a little time in handcuffs before they take those orders seriously. I recall a women’s shelter on the outskirts of Ottumwa more than 40 years ago. There was an attempt to keep its location secret, but the cat got out of the bag a very short while after its opening. I’ll be jiggered if there weren’t a few dudes who would park around the corner waiting to bird dog their ex. The police couldn’t be with the women everywhere, but it became known they would patrol frequently around the place. Some guys just don’t get it — or else they refuse to get it. I’m not going to say the incident reported here was anything that severe, but I was a hot line counselor in Ottumwa more than six years. I’ve seen it enough for it to disgust and anger me.
