June 17, 2016

  • A caller said “a small golden retriever puppy” was running in the street. The caller was “concerned the dog would get hit by a car.” An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller reported losing a billfold containing identification, credit and debit cards and $200 cash.
  • Natasha Sue McCoy, 18, 1209 18th St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault simple.
  • Trent Daniel Robinson, 22, 1209 18th St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault simple.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. after learning from the department “that a male had been arrested and was in possession of her credit card.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he “recently broke up” with a woman. The caller said “he wants to remove his belongings from her residence,” but “she won’t let him.” Officers responded and stood by while the caller removed his belongings.
  • A call was received at the Perry Police Department “with a lot of screaming in the background.” Officers responded and learned the brother of a recently deceased man was attempting to remove his property from the deceased man’s residence. The widow of the deceased man “was wanting to go through” the brother’s property “to make sure” the brother had not removed any property of the deceased man. Officers stood by while the widow examined the brother’s property until “she was satisfied and left.” The brother of the recently deceased man “then gathered his property and left.”
  • A caller said she found a kitten. An officer responded and transported the kitten to the Perry Animal Shelter. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller said her daughter was “threatening to harm herself.” Officers responded, but the distressed person was gone. “Officers searched the home and the immediate area on foot.” Officers contacted the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and the Dallas County Hospital and “advised them of the situation.”

June 18, 2016

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a billfold he found containing identification. An officer responded and contacted the owner of the billfold, who later retrieved it.
  • A caller from a local bank said the ban received a counterfeit $5 bill. An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “used his account to make purchases.” An officer responded.
  • Robert Paul Newhouse Jr., 27, 207 Orange Ave., Ames, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault.
  • A caller said she “wants to move out of her mother’s residence,” but “her mother won’t let her leave.” Officers responded, advised the parties to separate for the night in order to “cool off” and to meet later in order to discuss “the underlying problems, such as money and work-related problems.”
  • A caller said she “heard her neighbor’s dog barking in distress.” She said investigated and found the dog “badly tangled” and with “labored breathing. An officer responded and found “the dog was breathing with difficulty and was noticeably hurting.” The caller “kept the dog inside of her residence” until the officer could contact the dog’s owner.
  • Elber Perez-Martinez, 16, 1207 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.P160103
  • Pedro Calderon-Carranza, 18, 1915 W. Second St. Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.
  • A caller said he discovered “tires had been slashed on two vehicles.” An officer responded.

June 19, 2016

  • A caller from the Perry Water Works reported “an overflow at the water tower.” He said the problem was solved but “water is still running from the tower.”

*A criminal charge is merely and accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
