  • A caller said “someone had been ringing her doorbell for five minutes,” but the caller was “unable to see who it was.” Officers responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department reported a hit-and-run collision at Eighth and Pattee streets.
  • The Perry Police Department participated in the National Weather Service tornado drill. Officers responded.
  • A caller said “his ex” was “contacting his children even though a judge has signed an order stating she cannot do that.” The caller said the ex “is also harassing him via phone and text.” An officer responded, and a record search indicated “no protection order on file.”
  • A caller said “her ex-husband’s girlfriend is threatening her son’s girlfriend.” The caller said the “son is angry” and is en route “to confront the ex-husband and his girlfriend.” The caller said the “ex-husband owns two handguns and two or three shotguns and rifles.” The caller said the “ex-husband’s girlfriend has threatened to use them before.” Officers responded, made contact with the disputants and “advised the best way to prevent further issues is to go to the clerk of court’s to get no-contact orders.”
  • A 911 “caller sounded confused” and “said they didn’t mean to call 911.” Investigation revealed the caller resides in a local long-term care facility. The Perry Police Department “made contact with workers, who said they would check on” the caller.
  • A caller said “a heavier-set male fell off his scooter in front of” a local retail store. The Perry First Responders and the Dallas County EMS were paged. The caller said the “male got on his scooter and was going into” the store. Emergency units were disregarded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said a patient “reported a dog bite from one of their dogs. They were trying to break up a fight,” and someone “was bitten on the right hand.” Investigation revealed the incident occurred in Boone County, and the Boone County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A caller said a vehicle “almost hit her.” An officer responded, made contact with the registered owner and “advised him to be cautious when driving.”
  • A caller from a local retail store said a customer “had stolen socks.” An officer responded, reviewed security-camera footage and determined “there was no evidence of the female taking the socks and leaving the store.” The customer was also advised “to not take photographs of prescription labels.” The officer said he would “look into if photographing prescription labels is illegal and if it is, she will be charged for it.”
  • Dominique Anastasia Edwards was issued a citation for first-offense loud noise/music.
  • A caller said “her ex-husband came to pick up their two daughters,” but “the eldest didn’t want to go with him.” An officer responded and “advised it was a civil issue.”
  • A caller reported a suspicous person. An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered “a juvenile female about 11 or 12 years old.” The child said she “had been playing hide and go seek with her family” and “wandered away from home” and intended “to walk to her grandmother’s.” The officer made contact with the child’s father, “who had been out looking for her.” The child was returned to her father.
  • Patrolling officers of the Perry Police Department were informed by a female that she “had been assaulted by the owner” of a local restaurant. The female said “she was unsure whether she wanted to press charges against him.” An officer “provided her a sworn statement” and directed her to contact the officer “if she wanted to press charges.”
  • Jasmine Kay Long, 18, 108 Polk St., Sheldahl, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Brian Roscoe Weltzin, 23, 107 E. Hubbell St., Shelhdahl, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Izac Hawk Kinkennon, 20, 208 Martin St., Bouton, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, on to Dallas County warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear on an original charge of fifth-degree theft and on two Boone County warrants for failure to appear on original charges of driving under suspension.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
