March 29, 2018

  • A caller said “his mother heard some loud noises last night,” possibly “doors slamming to his trailer or vehicles.” The caller said he “looked through his trailer and has not seen that anything is missing.” The caller said he “did not wish to speak to an officer” but “only wanted to report it.” An officer was advised.
  • A caller said “his flatbed broke down in the alley,” and he “will try and move it soon.” An officer was advised.
  • A caller said “he got gas at Kum and Go,” and “since then there were two transaction attempts at the Walmart in Grimes. They were declined.” The caller “wanted officers to know.”
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department taught a DARE class at St. Patrick’s School.
  • An officer of the Perry Police Department taught a DARE class at the Perry Elementary School.
  • A caller said “someone has broken into the building” that recently burned, and they “knocked over boxes and threw garbage around the building.” An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said she “believes she and her husband are victims of skimmers at Kum and Go.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a former roommate was removing personal property from the residence, “but he is being mean and calling him names, and he can’t take the verbal abuse.” Officers responded and stood by while the former roommate collected his belongings.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “was flagged down” by someone “driving around looking for” his missing 9-year-old grandson. All officers were alerted. The grandfather found the grandson about 10 minutes afterward and brought him to the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded.

March 30, 2018

  • A caller said his daughter “is fighting with her boyfriend,” and “he did not know how far the fight had escalated.” Officers responded, made contact with the disputants and found “all was fine other than a verbal argument.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
