  • A wireless 911 caller said “he went in the ditch.” The caller said there were “no injuries but his back was hurting.” A second 911 caller said he was “the owner of the house” where the first caller’s vehicle entered the ditch. The second caller said “the truck rolled over and hit his mailbox,” and he “saw the driver take off toward Perry.” Officers responded along with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and the Iowa State Patrol.
  • A wireless 911 caller said “her vehicle was stolen. When asked where she was and if she saw the vehicle get stolen, she said, ‘I don’t know,’ and hung up.” The Perry Police Department called back, and the caller said “it was a misunderstanding and that everything was fine.”
  • A caller said someone “was drunk and yelling at someone in a van, threatening to break the window.” Officers responded and “determined he was not intoxicated but was on medication. He was advised to go to his apartment and get some rest.”
  • Dakota Neil Bishop, 26, 300 E. Washington St., Jefferson, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant on a charge of first-degree theft.
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to speak to an officer about the group home he lives at and how he doesn’t like it there.” An officer responded.
  • An off-duty officer of the Perry Police Department caught a dog running at large “and brought it to the police department.” An officer responded and made contact with the dog’s owner, who retrieved the dog.
  • A wireless 911 caller said “she saw a male jump out of a moving vehicle about five miles west” of Perry along Iowa Highway 141. An officer responded, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  •  A caller reported a parking violation. An officer “responded and found no vehicle.”
  • A caller said her husband lost his billfold.
  • Brenda Nicolaisen, 50, 12923 Houston Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge first-offense public intoxication.
  • A caller said a man was sitting near a church “who looks a little suspicious.” An officer responded and made contact with the man, who “was waiting on a ride. All okay.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A caller said he caught a dog running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said “he just moved into the home, and a female was hitting a male, but things seem to have calmed down” apart from “a female shouting periodically.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
