May 2, 2018

  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. to discuss “property disputes she’s having with her ex.” The woman “requested an officer stand by while she takes some property.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a cat he caught running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said “that in the last 45 minutes a male and female have been yelling at each other, throwing things around” and “have been in and out of the house, being loud.” An officer responded, “explained the domestic abuse assault laws to both of them” and recommended “that they would stop arguing with each other.”
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said his step-daughter “is in the Polk County Jail, and she has two Saint Bernards that have been left at her residence with no one to care for them.” An officer responded and made contact with the Humane Society of Perry.
  • A caller said her “5-year-old son locked her vehicle with her purse and everything inside.” The caller was referred to a local tow service.
  • A caller said “about five minutes ago they heard a noice and found that someone has shot through their window.” The caller said “no one is hurt.” Officers responded and concluded the window “did not appear to be shot out, but officers were unable to determine what object broke the two window panes.”
  • A caller said “she found marijuana.” An officer responded and “took possession of a small bag of green, leafy substance and logged it into evidence.”
  • A caller said “she is being harassed” by someone “who previously lived in her residence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her daughter’s bike was stolen a few days ago,” and now “her son saw a bike just like it.” An officer responded and made contact with the rider of the similar bicycle, who said “he found the bike and just started riding it.” The caller said she “just wanted the bike back,” and the “bike was returned to its owner.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked whether an officer would “stand by while he removes his belongings.” An officer responded and “stood by” while the man “attempted to get his property back, but his ex refused.” The officer advised the man “to take her to small claims court.”
  • A caller reported “a suspicious vehicle.” An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.

May 3, 2018

  • A caller said “he was out walking his dog and heard a gunshot.” Officers responded but did not locate the cause of the reported sound.
  • Aaron Joseph Fredricksen, 26, 1435 S. Fifth St., Carlisle, was arrested on a charge of first-offense public intoxication.
  • Cassie Pricilla Vaux, 27, 3511 Ridge Road, Agyre, Wis., was arrested on a charge of first-offense public intoxication.
  • A caller said “her back car window was smashed.” Officers “were tied up on two arrests and advised her to drive home and secure the vehicle.,” and the officers “would come take a report as soon as they could.”
  • A caller reported a suspicious vehicle. An officer responded and made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who said “he fell asleep while waiting to get gas.” On the officer’s checking the driver’s license information, “a hit came back for a probabtion violation warrant out of Buena Vista County for his arrest within a 100-mile extradition limit. Buena Vista County was contacted, and they advised they were not willing to pick him up on the warrant. He was then sent on his way.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
