November 1, 2018

  • A caller “reported an odd-looking raccoon.” An officer responded and “transported it out of the city limits.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large.
  • A caller said “he and his wife have been harassed by” someone who “uses other people’s profiles and offends him and his wife.” An officer responded and advised “both parties to no longer have communication with one another,” or “charges could be filed in the future.”
  • A 16-year-old female from Perry was arrested on a charge of fourth-degree theft.
  • A caller “requested an officer escort her to her home” in order “to pick up some clothes and her property.” An officer “responded and assisted.”
  • A caller was “upset” over the “neighbor’s dog running at large.” The caller said the dog “chased her cat up a tree.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said someone “is acting up, and they need assistance.” Officers responded.
  • A juvenile caller said his sister “was swinging around a metal rod and had punched and kicked him.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said a chicken was running at large. Officers responded and learned “the chicken had gone under the porch.” The caller said “she would call back when it came back out.”
  • Patrolling officers of the Perry Police Department “were approached and advised that there was someone who took their soccer ball near the bus stop.” The officers responded and “attempted to locate” the soccer ball thief.
  • A caller reported “a vehicle that was swerving coming into town, and it had children inside of it.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her neighbor’s dog keeps barking.” An officer was advised.
  • A caller reported “a person walking two small dogs” who let the animals defecate “in her yard.” The caller “said she was following them because they can’t be doing this and not picking it up.” A dispatcher “advised her not to follow them” and said the department “would send an officer out there” to tell the dog walker to clean up after the dogs.
  • A caller said she “noticed a cat that had a bag around its paw and head.” An officer “responded and attempted to locate the cat.” The caller said she was “going to continue looking for it with a flashlight around the neighborhood.”

November 2, 2018

  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department found “a red suitcase” that “was empty other than a small amount of trash and leaves. It appeared to be garbage,” and the officer “placed it by the garbage can” after determining the item “did not match any recent thefts or burglaries.”
  •  A caller reported “her 14-year-old daughter had run away from from, and they had tracked her cell phone.” The caller said “her daughter is possibly with a 16-year-old boy.” The caller “wanted a Perry officer to meet them at the address.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported harassment. An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
