Perry Police Report Nov. 23

November 21, 2016

  • A caller said “he was having sewage problems.” He said he “was advised to call the Perry Police Department.” The Perry Public Works Department was notified.
  • An employee of the Dallas County Secondary Roads Department entered the offices of the Perry Police Department in order “to report illegal dumping west of the river bridge on 130th Street.” He said “he believes whoever is doing it is dumping at night. So far the team has recovered tires and furniture.” An officer responded and made contact with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department “with a package he had received in the mail.” He said he “wanted to see if it was a scam.” An officer “responded and looked at the package.”
  • A caller said “there was a bicycle that was stuck in the bushes.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there were cars parked behind the No Parking sign.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he lost his brown wallet.”

November 22, 2016

  • A caller asked whether an officer from the Perry Police Department would “respond and remove her boyfriend from the residence.” Officers responded and found the boyfriend “had no where else to go and refused to leave.” The officers “explained” to the caller that “due to his living there for approximately three to four months, the officers were not going to be able to make him leave.” The caller and the boyfriend “agreed to leave each other alone” and “to go to bed for the remainder of the evening.”
  • A caller said her “neighbor has cut his tree, and debris and branches from the tree are on her yard.” The caller said she would “call back at the end of the day if they haven’t cleaned it up.”
  • A caller reported “suspicious activity” near her residence. An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department with a cat caught running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • Jace Martin Johnson, 15, 1960 283rd St., Rippey, was issued a citation for failure to yield half of roadway.
  • Austin James Tuel, 36, 1032 215th St., Jefferson, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would “stand by while he talks with his kids.” An officer responded and the caller “was able to say hi to his kids.”
  • A caller said he was “receiving harassing phone calls and text messages from his ex-girlfriend.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone was “always stalking the apartment complex, wanting to talk to his aunt.” An officer responded.

November 23, 2016

  • A caller “reported a crying puppy.” The caller said “it happens every morning between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.” An officer responded.

* A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

  1. A three-day report and only one undocumented feline was turned in for mandated euthanasia? Citizens of Perry, you’re slacking off your duty!
